Things to do with your family on a weekend.

Gear up and dive down to Cape Town’s Tidal Pools this season. Autumn doesn’t mean you have to stay in-doors. There is plenty to do this season. Weekends are a great time to get out and explore our beautiful shore line. Starting with…the Deep South. Here are a few suggestions for you to try.

What to pack: a picnic, coffee, water and breakfast bite, to eat in between swims by the tidal pools. It makes for happy snackery, great memories and keeps sugar levels high.

Where to go: We love: St James Pool, Dalebrook Pool, Kalk Bay, and Glencairn Tidal Pool. You can visit them all and pool hop, the latest thing, or just one in a morning. They are breathtaking and there is much less wind in the Autumn months.

What you will need: goggles, snorkel, fins

Where to get: Wetsuit Warehouse, 112 Main Rd, Kalk Bay. Browse and shop online on www.wetsuitwarehouse.co.za to book your gear and pop down to our Store where our friendly staff would love to assist you, then hit your favourite snorkel spot. The Octopus Teacher was filmed here and there is an underwater adventure to explore!

If you prefer to swim between the rocks in the open ocean, head down to Boulders and don’t forget your wetsuit/ rash vest or spring suit to go with your snorkeling gear. If you have a license, then take your spear fishing gear with you.

All of this is available at Wetsuit Warehouse 112 Kalk Bay, or Great White Sport 55 Main Rd Fish Hoek. Enjoy extending your Summer into Autumn this year! Good deals are to be made, and a lot of fun to be had by friends and family.
